Dauyo
Dauyo is a tour guide app for Dadaocheng using beacon technology. It collects tourist touring path informations and detect users position by using beacon. With these informations, we are able to share background stories in their current site. When they finish seeing current site, we can suggest tourists most popular location other people go after seeing their current sight. We hope this can help tourist have better touring experience and knowing background stories behind Dadaocheng .

Born in Hackathon
It’s a Hackathon about combine beacon technology with local retail store. Main purpose is trying to solve local problem with beacon or create new business model to bring the new energy into this place. The word “Dauyo” comes from Chinese letter “稻”(from this place name Dadaocheng) and “遊”(means touring). That describe our team’s goal: to provide a better touring experience in Dadaocheng.
How it works
We hope when the tourist come to Dadaocheng they are not just seeing those stores but also the story behind them. Using beacon detecting tourist’s position, when they enter the store we show them the information about this store and background history. When they are leaving we show them the suggest routes , connect their tour experience with top tourist’s choice. Combine with the local shipping service, tourist can buy there goods through app and pick them up when they are leaving. They can enjoy hands free touring in Dadaocheng.
Visual Identity:
Main color choice is extract from the brick which is the main material of the building here in Dadaocheng. And Dadaocheng is form by numbers of alleys. That’s why I arrange those strokes in the letter “稻” like alleys crossing each other. The concept of tour guiding also implied by the shape of the arrow in the middle of the logo.

Final result
Final result are judge by three aspect: How do you use beacon? Does it help local business? Is it doable? Because our solution matched both needs, we took the second place and special award! And by knowing these new friends in hackathon, gave me a new job opportunity!
